Top Dog Kennels

Top Dog Kennels is a veteran-owned dog boarding facility at 213 Hanson Dr in Cabot, AR, taking dogs of every size from small breeds to giants. The business is family operated. David spent 20 years in the Air Force, including a decade training and managing military working dogs, and Shawna works the kennel full time after two decades as an Air Force spouse.

What the suites are like

Every kennel is an indoor/outdoor suite with a doggy door, so dogs move between the two on their own. Each outdoor run is covered in artificial pet turf.

Standard suites measure 5'x5' inside with a 5'x20' outdoor run and run $44 a night for one dog. Large suites are 5'x10' inside with a 10'x20' run at $55 a night. A second dog sharing the same suite is $24. The kennel recommends, but does not require, a large suite for dogs near 100 pounds or for families booking more than one dog together.

Owners are asked to send their dog's regular food to keep the diet steady and avoid stomach trouble. Dogs that need to eat apart from a suitemate have to be booked into separate suites.

Practical details

Stays are by appointment only and booked by phone at 501-286-0489. Pick-up and drop-off happen Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and again from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., plus Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The kennel is closed Sunday, and after-hours or Sunday handling costs $35. Checkout by noon carries no extra charge. Military members and first responders get 10% off. Holiday and peak periods carry a three-day minimum and a nonrefundable deposit.
