Hillcrest Dog Spot is a small-capacity dog boarding and daycare facility at 2619 Kavanaugh Blvd in Little Rock, open seven days a week for overnight stays, structured daycare, grooming, and enrichment training.

The size limit is deliberate. Staff care for roughly 30 to 50 dogs on an average day, with 35 to 40 overnight guests at most, and hold a staff-to-dog ratio of about 1:10 to 1:12.

What sets it apart

Overnight staff are on-site every night, and the building is covered by 24/7 video monitoring. Handlers complete professional education through Dog Handler Academy and Pack Pro. Every dog rests during a facility-wide naptime from 12 PM to 2 PM, a quiet block meant to reduce overstimulation before the afternoon play rotation. Boarding guests get daily access to that same structured playtime without an upcharge.

Practical details

Hours run 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Friday and 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday, with no drop-offs or pickups during naptime. New dogs start with a free first-day Behavioral Trial Assessment. Rabies, Bordetella, and DHLPP vaccinations are required, and canine flu is highly recommended. Puppies are welcome from nine weeks old with at least their first round of shots. Reservations are made online through the Gingr portal or the Gingr for Pet Parents app. The building sits across from Box Turtle and next door to Hangers Cleaners, with street parking in front and a lot across the street. In-person tours are not offered during operating hours, since the space is compact and every area stays in use; photos and video are shared with new clients instead.
