Doggie Central

Doggie Central is a cage-free dog boarding and daycare facility at 1901 Pontius Avenue in Los Angeles, open seven days a week for overnight stays, day play, and grooming. The facility is Certified by the Professional Pet Industry as a safe facility, and The Argonaut voted it "Best of the Westside" in 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2025.

What a stay includes

Overnight boarding covers a 24-hour period and includes meals. Dogs spend their time in indoor play areas and outdoor space rather than in crates, and nap time comes with Kong enrichment. Owners can add dog walking once or twice a day, and ten-day walk packages are available for regular guests.

What sets it apart

A few of the extras here are unusual for a boarding kennel. Bordetella vaccination is available on site, and a visiting Smile Specialist provides non-anesthetic dental cleaning. The cage-free setup means dogs are grouped together under staff supervision instead of being kept in individual runs, so the day looks more like play than confinement. Training runs alongside the daycare and boarding services.

Hours and booking

Doors open at 6:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday and close at 9 p.m. Sunday hours run 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Those early mornings and late evenings give working owners room to drop off and pick up around a normal schedule.
