Tucked away on a private road south of Seattle in Enumclaw, WA, Rusty Horse Acres offers dog boarding and doggy daycare in a quiet, country setting where every guest is treated like family. Rather than housing large numbers of dogs in traditional kennels, the facility keeps only a handful of dogs at a time so each one receives individualized, one-on-one attention throughout their stay.

Dogs spend their days romping and socializing in a secure, monitored play yard, then settle into their own spacious bed inside warm, kennel-free quarters overnight. A typical day includes a minimum of four supervised outdoor breaks, from an early morning outing around 7:00 am to a final evening break near 9:00 pm, giving dogs plenty of time to play, relax, and enjoy the fresh country air.

Policies to Know

Because of insurance requirements, Rusty Horse Acres is unable to accept German Shepherds, Dobermans, Rottweilers, or Pit Bulls/Pit Bull mixes, and does not board intact male or female dogs over seven months of age. Up-to-date vaccinations, including DHLPP, rabies, and bordetella, are required for every guest, along with a current clean fecal report.

All tours, drop-offs, and pick-ups are scheduled by appointment only, ensuring a calm, controlled environment for the dogs already on site. Guests are encouraged to visit with their dog beforehand to experience the play yard and grounds firsthand.
