Roscoe's Ranch

Roscoe's Ranch is a family-run, home-based dog boarding facility in Snohomish, Washington, serving Seattle-area dog owners since 2004. Founded by Rena and Guy after struggling to find a place they trusted for their rescued boxer, Roscoe, the Ranch operates out of the family's own property and treats every boarding dog as a guest in their home rather than a number in a large facility. The couple kept the operation intentionally small so every dog receives individualized attention, from carefully matched off-leash playgroups to solo exercise for dogs who prefer to go it alone.

What's Included

• Flat-rate pricing covering two to three meals a day, medication administration, and three daily exercise sessions (an on-leash walk plus two off-leash play periods)
• 20 private kennels, each an 80 sq. ft. indoor/outdoor run with a raised bed, plus 4 luxury cottages at 320 sq. ft. with their own heater, raised bed, and sound system
• Organic bath and nail trim before check-out
• Personalized playgroups matched by size, age, energy level, and temperament, with separate areas for big and small dogs
• Red Cross-certified doggie CPR/First Aid staff and close relationships with local veterinarians for emergencies

Security is built into daily operations: the property is enclosed by a 6-foot cedar fence with a fence-within-a-fence around off-leash areas, and kennels and cottages are monitored with smoke detectors. Kennels are cleaned daily and sanitized between guests using veterinary-grade disinfectants, and health requirements are kept strict to protect the resident family dogs as well as boarding guests.

Beyond boarding, the Ranch donates a portion of every dollar spent to charitable organizations each month, a practice tied to the story of Roscoe, the rescue dog who inspired the business. Special-needs, elderly, and antisocial dogs are welcomed, and the owners work with each family to build a care routine suited to their dog's personality and health needs.
